NOTICE OF RESTRICTED NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST N°01/2025
Two-Phase Process
Subject: Search for partners to establish a joint-stock company specialized in confirming resources according to JORC, discovering new gold resources, mining, processing the gold ore from Tirek and Amesmessa, exploring the intermediate zone between Tirek and Amesmessa-Zita, as well as valorizing tailings.
PHASE 1: PUBLIC CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
The SONAREM Group is launching a call for expressions of interest to select companies willing to enter into a partnership with SONAREM to establish a joint venture for the exploration and exploitation of the TIREK and AMESMESSA gold deposits located in the In Guezzam province, Algeria, as well as for the recovery of gold from tailings.
This call for expressions of interest is addressed to companies or organizations specializing in the exploration, exploitation, and processing of gold deposits, with proven experience in these fields and experience operating similar of deposits.
Interested candidates are invited to submit, no later than Forty-five (45) days from the date of publication of this notice in the BAOSEM (Algerian Official Bulletin for Public Procurement), a letter of application accompanied by a brief presentation of their company, highlighting their experience in gold mining. This should be sent by email to the following address: amior@sonarem.dz or by express mail (DHL, FedEx, UPS, or other courier service) to the address:
SONAREM GROUP
07 Rue Mohammed Tahar Semani, Hydra -Alger, Algeria
Sonarem will organize, upon request from candidates, a site visit to examine the geology, mineralized zones, work completed, drill cores, existing infrastructure, and processing facilities, etc.
Requests for clarification should be sent to the Sonarem Group’s General Directorate via email: amior@sonarem.dz.
PHASE 2: CALL TO SELECTED CANDIDATES
After reviewing the applications, the Sonarem Group will provide the Expression of Interest application package only to the selected candidates. Candidates must submit their proposals to the email address mentioned above.
The selected candidate will present a proposal detailing:
Proven experience and expertise in the development and operation of gold deposits, as well as in the processing of gold ore and gold recovery;
Financial capacity related to the project;
Technical approach concerning the exploration, development, and exploitation of the Tirek and Amesmessa gold deposits;
The proposed work program for the permit area and estimated expenditures;
Human resource development, particularly the employment and training of local personnel in mining techniques and the maintenance of production equipment;
Contribution to and participation in the societal development of the region.
TECHNICAL SHEET OF THE TIREK AND AMESMESSA GOLD DEPOSITS
Geographic Location
The 140,800-hectare site of the Tirek and Amesmessa gold deposits is located 450 km southwest of the city of Tamanrasset.
Geology
The central part of the site is characterized by a shear zone called In Ouzal, which has a general N-S direction and a width of about 1.5 km, with a clear contact with the Archean block. Within this shear zone, numerous types of magmatic rocks (intrusive bodies and dykes) are present within mylonites, typically in undeformed facies, and either basic or acidic in composition. Acidic types (gabbros, rhyolites) are more abundant. Ultramafic and basic types are less common, represented by pyroxenite and gabbro veins.
Known gold mineralization along the In Ouzal shear zone occurs in the following forms in the host rocks:
Q-Au veins (Tirek deposit), usually less than 1 meter thick and with low sulfur content (1-3%);
Q-bedded-Au veins (Amesmessa deposit);
Disseminated Q-Au in hydrothermal alteration zones, typically covering large areas.
AMESMESSA DEPOSIT
This deposit consists of numerous lenticular quartz veins arranged in an N-S direction. The dip is sub-vertical (60°-85°) to the West, with several auriferous quartz vein zones, 18 of which were studied by trenches and 10 by core drilling. The central sector (zones 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11) of the deposit contains over 70% of the known resources. Zone 9 is the most important, with gold mineralization intercepted at a depth of -440 m, yielding a grade of 34.7 g/t gold over a width of 1.13 m.
TIREK DEPOSIT
This deposit contains numerous quartz veins, divided into three vein fields: fields A, B, and C. Field B hold the most important veins (F II, III, XIV, and XV). Some veins are oriented sub-meridionally (0° to 15°) with a sub-vertical dip (75° to 90°) to the West, while others have a NE orientation (30°-45°) with a NW dip of 45°-70°. Vein thickness ranges from 0.4-0.8 m to more than 1 m.
RESOURCE ESTIMATES
Various exploration campaigns conducted on the site from 1969 to 2015 have resulted in significant estimates of gold resources at Tirek and Amesmessa.
The resources certified in 2005 under JORC by the South African Consultant GRDMinproc, as part of the final feasibility study at Tirek (veins II, III, XIV, and XV) and Amesmessa (veins 9 & 8), are summarized in the following table:
